Due to the current situation that we are facing with regards to COVID-19 and Stay at Home advisories, the Planned Giving Council will be hosting our next meeting on June 16, 2020, via Zoom video conferencing.  This is a make up meeting for our April breakfast meeting that had to be postponed.  Our speaker is Row Iliescu and her topic is “Reaching the LGBTQ Community for Charitable Dollars in the time of COVID 19.”  We hope to see you in attendance!

Row Iliescu,

South Florida Development Director,
Equality Florida

Row (short for Rowena) Iliescu is Equality Florida’s South Florida Development Director, and helps oversee the region’s fund-raising events, with the greatest emphasis in Broward County.  Row’s activism began as a volunteer for Equality Florida in 2008 when she tirelessly canvassed voters at the polls on Amendment 2—which ultimately passed, amending Florida’s constitution to make Domestic Partnerships and Marriages between same-sex couples illegal. 

Row’s innate empathy and attention to detail, as well as conviction for the work of Equality Florida, has made her a natural steward of major donors to the organization for the past eight years. Most recently, she has developed the Legacy Program at Equality Florida and is currently coordinating the launch of a partnership with Freewill, an organization that makes it easy to write your will with philanthropy in mind.
